Welcome to Antioch Gloucester
Our Vision
Antioch Baptist Church was built in 1922 and served as a source of inspiration and unity in Gloucester, VA. Since The Truth In The Spirit has been stewarding this historic House of God, we've been connecting with other community organizations, like the Fairfield Foundation, to discover the truths hidden here and encourage healing and unity in the community.
Our Services
This House of God has been led by many leaders in the past, known and respected by The Truth In The Spirit. At Antioch, we continue to worship our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) through weekly worship services on Saturdays at 12:30pm (except for the 1st Saturday of each month when we are closed), and we observe the annual Biblical Feasts in Leviticus chapter 23.
Annual Antioch Homecomings
Our Annual Antioch Homecomings serve to celebrate the history and legacy of Antioch and the Piney Swamp community, where the pre-Emancipation enslaved took refuge and afterwards purchased parcels from former owners. The Historic Antioch Baptist Church is the only historic public structure left standing in the former community. Together with the Fairfield Foundation and other community organizations, we are working to preserve the stories of descendants of the Piney Swamp Community, heal the community and move forward as one in the region.
